PICKERING, YORKSHIRE

The original document was in very poor condition and therefore a full transcription was not possible. However I have tried to glean as much information as I can, although this is patchy. The property is described as All that Messuage or tenement situate in Pickering aforesaid in a street there called Castle Gate adjoining on lands late the estate of Anthony Oats Esquire on the East on a house and garth belonging to the King Majesty[?] of which the said Anthony Oats was Lessee on the North Kings Street on the West and the house and garth now or late of Francis Hardwick on the South And Also an allotment of land set out and awarded unto the said Joseph King by the general commissioners appointed in and by an Act of Parliament inititled An Act for Dividing and Inclosing Certain Commons and Waste Lands within the Township of Pickering and Newton in the North Riding of the county of York situate and being in a place called the Town Green part of the said Commons of Pickering adjoining on Pickering Beck on the East on the ancient inclosed lands of John Marshall on the West on the allotments of John Rickenson and awarded unto him by the said general commissioners on the North and the allotment of Christopher Halder[?] awarded to him as aforesaid on the South And also all that other allotment of land situate and being in a place called Yatts part of the Commons aforesaid and set out and awarded unto the said Joseph King as aforesaid by the general commissioners adjoining on ancient enclosed lands called Bla....
