LEASE
DATED 16 MAY 1808

Indenture being a Lease for a year of a messuage tenement or dwellinghouse and
cottage with the gardens, pew and premises situate in Bramham in the County of
York dated 16 May 1808, John Brommitt (also spelt Bromit) to Thomas Burton
reading as follows:

This Indenture made the
sixteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eight Between John Brommitt of Tadcaster in the county of York
cordwainer of the one part and Thomas Burton of Bramham in the said county
cordwainer of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration
of the sum of five shillings of lawful English money to the said John
Brommitt in hand well and truly paid by the said Thomas Burton at or before
the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged He the said John Brommitt Hath bargained and sold and by these
presents Doth bargain and sell unto the said Thomas Burton his executors
administrators and assigns All that messuage dwellinghouse or tenement
situate and being in Bramham aforesaid and at a place there commonly called
Dalamoor Hill with the garden in two divisions to the same adjoining and
belonging now or late in the occupation of the said Thomas Burton And all
that cottage or small building adjoining the said messuage with the garden
foldstead and pigstye to the said cottage belonging in the occupation of the
said Thomas Burton which said premises adjoin the premises late of James
Pearson deceased on the one side and John Settle on the other side thereof
And also one pew in Bramham Church and one Carr Doat to the said messuage or
tenement belonging Together with all and singular ways paths passages
waters watercourses commons and common of pasture in upon and over the common
waste grounds and common fields within the township of Bramham aforesaid and
all other rights easements privileges advantages emoluments hereditaments and
appurtenances whatsoever to the said hereby bargained and sold hereditaments
and premises belonging or in any wise appertaining or therewith or with any
part thereof commonly demised used occupied or enjoyed or accepted reputed
deemed taken or known as part parcel or member thereof or of any part thereof
And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders yearly and other
rents issues and profits thereof and every part thereof To have and to
hold the said messuage cottage garden tenements hereditaments and
premises herein above bargained and sold or intended so to be with their and
every of their rights members and appurtenances unto the said Thomas Burton
his executors administrators and assigns from the day next before the day of
the date of these presents for during and unto the full end and term of one
whole year from thence next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended Yielding
and paying therefore unto the said John Brommitt his heirs or assigns the
rent of one pepper corn on the last day of the said term if the same shall be
lawfully demanded To the intent that by virtue of these presents and by force
of the statute made for transferring uses into possession He the said Thomas
Burton may be in the actual possession of all and singular the said premises
hereby bargained and sold and may be thereby enabled to accept and take a
Grant and Release of the reversion and inheritance thereof unto and to the
use of the said Thomas Burton his heirs and assigns To such uses upon such
trusts and to and for such intents and purposes as are limited expressed and
declared of and concerning the same in and by one Indenture already prepared
and intended to bear date the day next after the day of the date of these
presents and made between the said John Brommitt of the first part the said
Thomas Burton of the second part and blank of the third part In
witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set
their hands and seals the day and year first above written
