NEWINGTON, SURREY


LEASE DATED 30 AUGUST 1882

 

A vellum Indenture on two sheets being a Lease for 21 years dated 30 August 1882 of No 17 Walworth Road in the parish of St Mary Newington in the County of Surrey, H J Mathews Esquire and others to Mr George Hollands. The document also has a later endorsed Surrender dated 9 December 1896

The document has a Schedule of fixtures contained in the property which includes Bath Room – Body Bath as fixed with cold water supply waste pipe and plug – in 1882!  Also Back Room – stove and painted mantel cistern and lavatory basin with supply pipe and tap and waste pipe.  It also mentions fixtures in the Top Floor Front Room, Back Room, First Floor Drawing Room, Ground Floor Shop, Parlour, Basement Washhouse, Yard, Bakehouse and Loft.
