EASTBOURNE, SUSSEX


RE-ASSIGNMENT DATED 28 FEBRUARY 1884

 

A vellum Indenture being a Re-Assignment of premises in Devonshire Terrace situate in Eastbourne in the County of Sussex, Miss E Mannington to Mr J W McCauley reading as follows

This Indenture made the twenty eighth day of February one thousand eight hundred and eighty four Between Elizabeth Mannington of Lewes in the county of Sussex spinster of the one part and John McCawley of Eastbourne in the said county builder of the other part And supplemental to an Indenture of Mortgage dated the seventh day of October one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight made between the said John McCawley of the one part and Henry Catt and Mary Mannington of the other part for securing the sum of one thousand pounds and interest at five pounds per centum per annum on the lands therein mentioned And whereas the said Mary Mannington died on the nineteenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighty three leaving the said Henry Catt her surviving And whereas by Indenture dated the eleventh day of October one thousand eight hundred and eighty three and made between the said Henry Catt of the first part the said John McCawley of the second part and the said Elizabeth Mannington of the third part It was witnessed that in consideration of the sum of one thousand pounds paid to the said Henry Catt by the said Elizabeth Mannington at the request of the said John McCawley the said Henry Catt as Mortgagee did thereby assign to the said Elizabeth Mannington her executors administrators and assigns All that the said sum of one thousand pounds then owing on the security aforesaid and all interest to grow due for the same and the full benefit of all covenants contained in the hereinbefore mentioned Indenture of Mortgage To hold unto the said Elizabeth Mannington absolutely and the said Henry Catt did assign and the said John McCawley did thereby confirm unto the said Elizabeth Mannington All and singular the premises comprised in and demised by the said Indenture of Mortgage of the seventh day of October one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight for the residue of the said term granted by the said Indenture of Mortgage Now this Indenture witnesseth that in consideration of the said sum of one thousand pounds and all interest thereon paid to the said Elizabeth Mannington of which sum and interest she hereby acknowledges the receipt The said Elizabeth Mannington as Mortgagee Doth hereby convey to the said John McCawley All the lands and premises mentioned in the said Indenture of the seventh day of October one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight To hold the same Unto the use of the said John McCawley for the residue of the term created by the Indenture of Lease mentioned in the said Indenture of Mortgage discharged from all principal money and interest secured by and from all claims and demands under the said Indenture of Mortgage In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
