LEASE
DATED 28 SEPTEMBER 1732

Indenture being a Lease for a year of a dwellinghouse or tenement with the shop
garden croft or backside situate on Gravell Hill in Over Penn in the County of
Stafford dated 28 September 1732, Thomas Janns to William Foxall reading as
follows:-

This Indenture made the eight and twentyeth day of September in the sixth
yeare of the reigne of our most Gracious Sovereigne Lord George the Second by
the Grace of God of Great Brittaine France and Ireland King Defender of the
Fayth &c Anno Dni 1732 Betweene Thomas Janns of Wolverhampton in
the countye of Stafford gent of the one part and William Foxall of Nether
Penn in the sayd countye of Stafford husbandman of the other part Witnesseth
that the sayd Thomas Janns for and in consideration of the sume of two
shillings and sixpence of good and lawfull money of Great Brittaine to him in
hand payd by the sayd William Foxall the receipt whereof he doth hereby
acknowledge and other considerations him hereunto moveing He the sayd Thomas
Janns Hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant
bargain and sell unto the sayd William Foxall his executors administrators
and assignes All that dwellinghouse or tenement scytuate and being on
Gravell Hill in Over Penn in the sayd countye of Stafford wherein Thomas
Dalton doth now inhabite and dwell Togeather with the shop garden croft or
backside thereunto adjoyneing and belongeing lyeing and being betweene the
road way leading from Over Penn - Pinfold up Gravell Hill unto the upper part
of the Towne of Over Penn on the one side thereof and the land late of John
Bradney gent deceased and now of Ralph Sedgwick gent on the other side thereof
and a little passage leading from Gravell Hill aforesayd to the land late of
the sayd John Bradney deceased and now of the sayd Ralph Sedgwick on the
lower end thereof and the land late of the sayd John Bradney gent deceased
and now of the sayd Mr Ralph Sedgwick on the other end thereof or on at or
neare all some or most parts thereof And also all wayes waters easments
proffitts comodityes and advantages whatsoever to the sayd dwellinghouse and
premisses belongeing or in any wise appertayneing or therewith now used sett
lett or enjoyed or reputed taken or knowne as part parcell or member thereof
or appurtenant thereunto And the reversion and reversions remaynder and
remaynders thereof To have and to hold all the sayd dwellinghouse or
tenement and premisses with their and every of their appurtenances unto the
sayd William Foxall his executors administrators and assignes from the day
next before the day of the date of these presents for and dureing and unto
the full end and terme of one whole yeare thence next ensueing and fully to
be compleat and ended Yeilding and paying therefore unto the sayd
Thomas Janns his heires or assignes the rent of one pepper corne on the Feast
of St John the Baptist next ensueing the date of these presents if the same
shall be lawfully demanded To the intent and purpose that by virtue of
these presents and of the statute made for transferring uses into possession
the sayd William Foxall may be in actuall possession of all the sayd
premisses and may be thereby enabled to accept and take a grant and release
to execute the estate and title of the reversion and inheritance thereof in
him the sayd William Foxall his heires and assignes forever In witness whereof
the sayd partyes to these presents their hands and seals have hereunto interchangeably
put the day and yeare first above written
