Mr Thomas Bretten

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Bretten of the
parish of St Giles in the Fields in the county of Middlesex vintner being of
sound mind and memory doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner
following First I recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body to be
buryed at the discretion of my executrix hereafter named and as for my
worldly estate wherewith God has blest me I give and devise the same as
followeth First I give and devise to my only daughter Susannah Bretten the
sume of fifteen hundred pounds to be paid to her at the age of one and twenty
years or day of marriage which shall first happen and I further Will that
untill she shall marry or be of age as aforesaid my said executrix shall take
care of her education and maintenance and if it shall happen my said daughter
dye before her age of one and twenty years or marriage then my will is that
seven hundred and fifty pounds part of the said fifteen hundred pounds so
devised to my said daughter be with all convenient speed put out to interest
and that my sister Whitehead shall during her life have and receive the said
interest to her own use and after the decease of my said sister Whitehead I
give and devise the said seven hundred and fifty pounds amongst her children
equally to be divided amongst them And the other seven hundred and fifty
pounds remainder of the said fifteen hundred pounds I give and devise to my
said executrix And I doe hereby make constitute and appoint my dear and
beloved wife Frances Bretten sole executrix of this my last will and
testament to whome I give and devise all the rest and residue of my estate
whatsoever either reall or personall for ever And I hereby appoint Mr William
Oldes overseer of this my Will and desire he will assist my wife in the
execution thereof In testimony whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal
this nineteenth day of October in the twelfth year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne
Lord William the Third over England &c King Anno One Thousand Seven
