Of the Will of
Ann Patey
Deceased
Dated 15 March 1811
These Memorandums to be fully executed after my decease March 4th 1811 What
stock I have in the 5 per cent Navy to be equally divided between my three
sisters my property in the 4 per cent and 3 per cent with what arises from
the selling of Playhatch to be divided between my sister Brisbane's four
children and whatever may be my share of legal property from the two estates
Newel and Bridgwater I bequeath equally between Sarah Brisbane and Jane Phelp
whatever I leave to my sister Brisbane is for her own particular use my watch
to Lavinia Brisbane my niece the best of my clothes to be divided between her
and Arethusa Brisbane my cornelian ring to my sister Phelp and my blue
enamelled ring also with my father's miniature my sister Louisa my netting
box and writing box my sister Brisbane my two silver waiters and flat silver
candlestick my goddaughter Lavinia Brisbane my large tablecloth four silver
salt cellars and gravy spoons to my sister Phelp my two silver cups one to
Charles Baillie Brisbane one to John Douglas Brisbane

Charles by Divine Providence Archbishop of Canterbury,
Primate of All England, and Metropolitan To our well beloved in Christ Sarah
Brisbane (wife of Sir Charles Brisbane Knight) and Jane Phelp (wife of The
Reverend William Awbery Phelp clerk) the natural and lawful sisters and next
of kin of Ann Patey late of Stanwell in the county of Middlesex spinster
deceased Greeting whereas the said Ann Patey having whilst living, and at the
time of her death, goods, chattels or credits, in divers dioceses or
jurisdictions, did (as is alleged) in her lifetime rightly and duly make her
last Will and Testament (hereunto annex) and did not therein name any
executor or residuary legatee AND WE, being desirous that the said goods,
chattels and credits may be well and faithfully administered, applied and
disposed of according to law, DO therefore by these presents grant full power
and authority to you, in whole fidelity we confide, to administer and
faithfully dispose of the said goods, chattels and credits, according to the
Tenor and Effect of the said Will; and first to pay the Debts of the said
Deceased, which she did owe at the Time of her Death, and afterwards the
Legacies contained and specified in the said Will, so far as such goods,
chattels and credits, will thereto extend and the law requires: You having
been already sworn well and faithfully to administer the same, and to make a
true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods, chattels and
credits, and to exhibit the same into the Registry of Our Prerogative Court
of Canterbury, on or before the last day of September next ensuing, and also
to render a just and true Accompt thereof, And we do by these presents
ordain, depute and constitute you Administratrix of all and singular the
goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased (with the said Will annexed)
Given at London the fifteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and eleven and in the seventh year of our Translation
