OADBY, LEICESTERSHIRE

MORTGAGE DATED 7 FEBRUARY 1817

A vellum Indenture being a Mortgage of two messuages or tenements with the orchard and homestead thereto belonging and a close of land and two other messuages or tenements, barn and yard all situate in Oadby in the County of Leicestershire dated 7 February 1817, Mr John Barber and his wife to Alice Slawson. The document has a receipt on the back for the full repayment of the monies dated 22 December 1852

Signed a receipt on the back of the document dated 22 December 1852 for the full repayment of the monies and named in the receipt as Alice Grainger. There is also a note on the back that Alice Grainger was formerly Alice Slawson spinster and was then the widow of John Grainger deceased
