RELEASE DATED 1 JULY 1817

 

 

A vellum Indenture being a Release dated 1 July 1817 for £250 settled upon Mrs Mary Butcher by Margaret Shepherd of Kirkham, Lancashire. Mr John Butcher and Mary his wife to William and Joseph Birley Esquires. The document also recites information from an Indenture made in 1809.

Described in document as having “departed this life some time ago”. Cover of document names her as Mrs Margaret Shepherd but actual document describes her as being a spinster

Named in recital of Indentures of Lease and Release dated 1 and 2 August 1809 to receive the interest, dividends and annual proceeds and profits of the estate of Margaret Shepherd for life following the decease of Margaret Shepherd. Died on or about 7 July 1816
