LEASE
DATED 26 APRIL 1816
A vellum
Indenture being a Lease to vest possession of a dwellinghouse cottage or
tenement called Coleman Slade with a garden and lands reading as follows:

This Indenture made the twenty sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and sixteen Between Thomas Bannister of the
parish of Cradley in the county of Hereford labourer of the one part and
Robert Oldaker of the parish of Michaelchurch in the said county of Hereford
Miller of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of
the sum of five shillings of lawful British money to the said Thomas
Bannister in hand well and truly paid and satisfied by the said Robert
Oldaker the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged He the said Thomas
Bannister Hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents Doth
grant bargain and sell unto the said Robert Oldaker his executors
administrators and assigns All that dwellinghouse cottage or tenement
wherein Ann Davis widow did heretofore dwell commonly called or known by the
name of Coleman Slade And also all that garden and orchard to the same
belonging and adjoining And also all those two orchards or crofts of land to
the said dwellinghouse or cottage belonging or appertaining containing by
estimation two acres more or less Together with all houses outhouses barns stables
gardens orchards lands meadows pastures woods underwoods ways waters waste
grounds commons profits and emoluments tenements and hereditaments to the
said dwellinghouse cottage or tenement belonging or appertaining And the
reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits of
all and singular the said premises To have and to hold the said
dwellinghouse cottage or tenement garden orchards lands hereditaments and
premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances and every part
thereof unto the said Robert Oldaker his executors administrators and assigns
from the day next before the day of the date hereof for and during and unto
the full end and term of one whole year from thence next ensuing and fully to
be complete and ended Yielding and paying therefore unto the said
Thomas Bannister his heirs or assigns the rent of a pepper corn on the last
day of the said term if demanded Which said bargain and sale hereby made is
so made to this only intent and purpose that by virtue hereof and by force of
the statute made for transferring uses into possession he the said Robert
Oldaker may be in the actual possession of all and singular the said hereby
granted bargained and sold premises and thereby be enabled to accept and take
a Grant and Release thereof to him his heirs and assigns for ever In witness
whereof the parties first above named have hereunto set their hands and seals
the day and year first above written
