PUTLEY, HEREFORDSHIRE


LEASE DATED 25 OCTOBER 1827

 

A vellum Indenture being a Lease for a year of a cottage tenement and garden occupied as two dwellings situate in the parish of Putley, in the County of Hereford dated 25 October 1827, Mr Thomas Taylor to Mrs Jane Stock reading as follows 

This Indenture made the twenty fifth day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven Between Thomas Taylor of the parish of Tarrington in the county of Hereford Butcher (eldest son and heir at law of John Taylor late of the same parish Butcher deceased) of the one part and Jane Stock of Putley Court in the parish of Putley in the county of Hereford widow of the other part Witnesseth that in consideration of five shillings of lawful British money to the said Thomas Taylor in hand paid by the said Jane Stock at or immediately before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged He the said Thomas Taylor Hath bargained and sold and by these presents Doth bargain and sell unto the said Jane Stock her executors administrators and assigns All that cottage tenement and garden now occupied as two dwellings with the right members and appurtenances thereto belonging situate in the parish of Putley in the county of Hereford having a common called Putley Common on the South and East parts thereof a wood called Commanders Wood on the West part and a wood called Maines Wood on the North part thereof and now in the tenure or occupation of Joseph Preece and Joseph Davies as tenants thereof or by whatsoever other name or names description or descriptions the said cottage or tenement garden and hereditaments now are or is or heretofore were or was called known or distinguished Together with all and all manner of rights privileges easements appendants and appurtenances whatsoever to the said cottage or tenement garden hereditaments and premises or any part thereof belonging or appurtenant thereto And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders of and in the said cottage or tenement garden and hereditaments and the rents issues profits and proceeds thereof To have and to hold the said cottage or tenement garden and hereditaments with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances and all and singular other the premises hereby bargained and sold or intended so to be unto the said Jane Stock her executors administrators and assigns from the day next before the day of the date of these presents from the term of one whole year thence next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended Yielding and paying therefore unto the said Thomas Taylor his heirs or assigns the rent of one peppercorn on the last day of the said term (if the same shall be lawfully demanded) To the intent that by virtue of these presents and by force of the statute for transferring uses into possession the said Jane Stock may be in the actual possession of the said cottage or tenement garden and hereditaments with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances and all and singular other the premises hereby bargained and sold or intended so to be and be thereby enabled to accept and take a Grant and Release of the freehold reversion and inheritance of the same premises to her her heirs and assigns for ever To and for the use and behoof of the said Jane Stock her heirs and assigns for ever more and to for and upon no other use trust intent or purpose whatsoever In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
