ye 18 1750
Sir,
I do understand now that young Puckmore have sold the estate that came by his wife
and have received the money for it a month ago but there is not one word
mentioned about ye payment of my legacy neither do I hear anything in
relation to the making up of my affair nor I suppose do they intend to do
anything in the matter. I know very
well that Mr. Mynd will do all that lies in his power for Puckmore for one of
his sons is almost constantly with Jack Puckmore and is to be his adopted son
and likewise his heir so that Mr. Mynd have the whole estate in view. I only mention this to let you know as much
of the affair as I can. The two
Puckmores have given out that we have finally made up our matters though not
one jot done in the affair so that they …. all in triumph but I hope sir this
will excite some pity in you as I am deprived of my birth right and in danger
of losing the legacy that was left me for my wife's fortune. I do not cannot
doubt that a gentleman of your good character can fail to do the utmost of
your power to right one that has been so much injured. To be sure the Law will give me my legacy
if proceeded and the land that’s left me and I am in hope of the goods and
plate. Likewise I hope you'll please
to proceed. I have money enough to
carry on the Law suit and if I had not I have got a friend that will help me
to as much as I wants and if you please I will produce him to you.
From,
Sir, your most humble servant
Thomas
Keesle
