NOTICE TO PAY UP DATED 4 JANUARY 1806

A Notice to pay up mortgage in letter form on a single small piece of paper dated 4 January 1806 from Herbert YEOMANS reading as follows:-

Sir,

I have been unexpectedly obliged to pay upwards of £200 for a friend and relation in great distress, and to borrow the money at the bank for the purpose for three months. I am therefore very sorry that I must call in the money due from you to me on mortgage and hereby give you notice to pay it off at three months from this day.

You know that the bank will not let money but for a short time, and therefore hope you will see the necessity of the case and be punctual in your payment.
