Surrender out of Court dated 16 May 1789

 

A paper document being a Surrender out of Court of Richard Russell dated 16 May 1789 reading as follows:- 

Manor of Marden otherwise Mawardine

Be it remembered that Richard Russell of the parish of Amberley in the County of Hereford, yeoman, a customary Tenant of this Manor come ths before us Edward English and William Taylor, two of the customary Tenants of this Manor and doth surrender into the Hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Hands and acceptance of us the two customary Tenants last above mentioned and by the Rod according to Custom Half an Acre of Customary arable Land lying in Sutton’s Lower Field between the Lands heretofore of the Lady Alice Lingen on the west part and the Lands heretofore of John Seabourne on the East part and abutting upon the Ridge Way with the appurtenances lying within the Manor aforesaid To the Use of Elizabeth the wife of William Preece of Amberley in the County of Hereford, Labourer and her Suis or Heirs according to the Custom of the said Manor
