MORTGAGE DATED 1 MARCH 1838

 

A vellum Indenture being a Mortgage of a plot, piece or parcel of land, messuage, dwellinghouse and buildings situate at or near Wainbridge in the parish of Almondsbury in the County of Gloucestershire dated 1 March 1838, Mr Robert Hopkins to Mr Thomas Pearce

Blacksmith of Almondsbury, Gloucestershire. Party to Indentures of Lease and Release dated 24 and 25 May 1820 when the property was conveyed to him. Also party to Indenture dated 17 February 1821 when he borrowed £100 from Thomas Pearce. Sold part of property to Ann Hopkins in December 1829. Borrowed various sums of money since from Thomas Hopkins and at the time of this Indenture owed £200 which is being secured by this Mortgage

Thomas PEARCE

Yeoman of Compton Greenfield, Gloucestershire. Also party to Indenture dated 17 February 1821 when he lent £100 to Robert Hopkins. Lent various other sums of money to Robert Hopkins who owed him £200 at the time of this Indenture
